Bemuda's Coral Reefs provide economic benefits through protecting the coast from storms and hurricanes, supporiing the tourism industry, supporting commercial and recreational fisheries, and contributing substantially to a quality of life envied worldwide.

 

These are some of the benefits provided for by our coral reefs. If all of the benefits were to be valued, the total average would be far greater than the average $722 million per year estimated here. Even then, the Total Economic Value (TEV) for Bermuda's reefs represents 10-17% of Bermuda's GDP
